  • 35 Years waiting for this to happen
    Fri, 10/20/2017 - 3:49pm

Ray has waited for 35 years to be drawn in the Maine Moose Lottery to have the chance to go after a moose in northern Maine. He was successful as you can see and now there's plenty of moose meat to go around to family and friends. Don't worry, guests, we won't be serving up any for you, but if you'd like to try some we're happy to send you home with a steak or two. If you are interested in viewing a really intense video of the hunt please click on this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5JKCdi7wx0 video

  • Daughter #5 gets married!
    Fri, 06/16/2017 - 3:51pm

Daughter #5 to get married, Maria, is my most unique. She didn't want to have her reception here at the inn, but opted for The Portland Company in Portland on the waterfront. I have to say I was very unsure about her choice until I walked in and saw what she did with an old railroad repair warehouse. INCREDIBLE!!

  • My man of many talents
    Mon, 06/05/2017 - 4:02pm

Ray became a Registered Maine Guide for hunting and fishing, by studying and passing a very rigorous test. I'm so proud of the time he has spent preparing for this and his life's time passion for the outdoors. (And all this time I thought I was his passion :')

  • Downton Abbey in Harrison Maine
    Mon, 06/05/2017 - 4:36pm

A farewell tea was held her for my dear friend Merry Vigneau, the wife for the headmaster of Bridgton Academy, as she and Grady move on to other opportunities. All of the Bridgton Academy women came to send Merry off and wish her well.

  • Who Knew?
    Mon, 06/05/2017 - 3:52pm

I was so amazed to see this drawing, albeit badly photographed by me, of our inn displayed at the local elementary school right outside my grandson's classroom. The inn was built in 1870 and was a stagecoach stop in Harrison at that time. Most of the inn's guest rooms are in the old carriage house. It's still possible to see the exposed beams and stalls from time gone by.
