  • Daughter #5 gets married!
    Fri, 06/16/2017 - 3:51pm

Daughter #5 to get married, Maria, is my most unique. She didn't want to have her reception here at the inn, but opted for The Portland Company in Portland on the waterfront. I have to say I was very unsure about her choice until I walked in and saw what she did with an old railroad repair warehouse. INCREDIBLE!!

    Mon, 06/05/2017 - 4:02pm

Ray became a Registered Maine Guide for hunting and fishing, by studying and passing a very rigorous test. I'm so proud of the time he has spent preparing for this and his life's time passion for the outdoors. (And all this time I thought I was his passion :')

A farewell tea was held her for my dear friend Merry Vigneau, the wife for the headmaster of Bridgton Academy, as she and Grady move on to other opportunities. All of the Bridgton Academy women came to send Merry off and wish her well.

I was so amazed to see this drawing, albeit badly photographed by me, of our inn displayed at the local elementary school right outside my grandson's classroom. The inn was built in 1870 and was a stagecoach stop in Harrison at that time. Most of the inn's guest rooms are in the old carriage house. It's still possible to see the exposed beams and stalls from time gone by.

Don't you just love the smell of fresh baked bread? It fills the house with such warm deliciousness it's hard to ignore... right? That's what I thought as I headed out the door to an appointment with just 6 minutes left on the timer for the loaf in the oven.bread
